About the event
Bloom North Ikigai sessions are a chance to use your lunch hour to fuel positive, meaningful growth. Each session gives you the chance to join the Bloom North community to explore, learn and connect together.
The content of the sessions is rooted in the need for all of us to cultivate a new set of skills in order to thrive in the fast-paced, connected, ever-changing modern world of work. Each session will involve a thought-provoking, educational talk followed by questions and discussion. There are 7 sessions – you can sign up for all 7 or select individual sessions.
Bring your lunch and come along to feel energised and inspired. Session 4 is all about Hyper-connected distraction:
We are vulnerable, compelled and distracted by our devices. Fully giving our attention to anything - or anyone - is increasingly rare in our hyperconnected world. Yet without being connected to the people we encounter, we fail to build meaningful, productive relationships. Technological developments and potential distractions are intractable facts of working life. Yet how we react to them is not preordained. The path forward requires learning more about our vulnerabilities.
Output: An understanding of the impact of distraction - and the skills to react effectively when faced with it.
